Hey Christina, I was going to do a shoot this up coming spring and it would be my first shoot ever. He is a good photographer (I know someone he's worked with and she's pretty well known now) and he's worked with some big names but I saw that you said for your first shoot you wouldn't suggest spending more than 500. His rates are high. It's 4 hours of unlimited shooting for $750 or 8 hours of unlimited shooting for $1200. Plus the cost of a makeup and hair artist if I choose to have one. Would you say I shouldn't go through with it? And if not, do you know a good photographer and makeup artist in the NYC area? Thanks!

Hi Cristina - I recently had a test shoot and now I am trying to decide which photos to use on my comp card and which ones I should add to my portfolio. Could you please look at my pictures and give me some advice. Thanks

Hi Christina, Two things: 1. Just saying hello... haven't been around here much in the last year. Not much success to report yet, but still at this! Hope you're well, looks like the site is growing! 2. Been networking like crazy with models and photographers around me. Just not much work around here right now. But... everyone always says "keep shooting.." Well that's all fine, but really what does that mean? Sure I could go out and pay for a shoot once a week... not a great business model!!! What I figure that means is go out and find photographers that want to shoot for trade. But in my market/age range there just aren't photographers that want to work for free. Good commercial photographers are high in demand and don't want to shoot TF. I could probably shoot with some newb's, but the images I get won't really be worth anything in terms of port building. So, what's a 40+ year old to do... to "keep shooting"???

Hi Cristina, What do I do if I don't have funds to get updated pictures. Can I use what I have? I really would like to work, but I just don't have extras. Can you give me any advice? Thanks, Leah

Hi Cristina :) I'm going to do a shoot with a professional photographer that is just starting out. Therefore he is doing the shoot for free for me and my sis. It is called TFCD. Anyway, are those good photos to put in a portfolio and a comp card? Or do I need to go to a $600 photographer? Thanks! and I love this site! I am going to recommend it to everybody who is looking to model. Who needs modeling school when you've got exploremodeling.com!!!

Hey Cristina! I'm doing a test shoot this week. I am aiming for a fresh commercial look, how should I keep my hair straight and simple or put curls in it?
